Job Description

Air Quality engineer/scientist providing our clients with professional problem solving skills to solve air permitting and compliance opportunities.

 

Position Responsibilities:  

  • Provides technical expertise, project management, and staff mentoring of junior staff.
  • Compiles and writes reports/proposals and correspondence by using technical knowledge, team effort and budget information, and clearly and concisely put that knowledge into words.
  • Performs field work which includes: client site visits to inventory equipment and assess current facility status or to collect data for projects.  Field investigations may include operation of heavy equipment, handling of hazardous materials, and analysis of media using field instrumentation.
  • Performs office work which includes: regulatory analysis, calculations, application and interpretation of regulatory requirements, and report preparation. 
  • Evaluation of emission levels and emission control technology.
  • Performs technical project tasks with little direction, on time and within budget.
  • Keep current with emerging and changing regulations that impact our client base.
  • Meets annual billable goal requirements.
  • Communicates with clients and co-workers in a professional and courteous manner.
  • Contributes to team effort by performing other related duties and assignments as needed.
  • Establish and maintain an excellent working relationship with clients and co workers.
  • Some out of town travel is required.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in Science/Engineering, with at least six years of related experience, or a Master's degree in Environmental Science/Engineering with at least four years of related experience.
  • Five  years of environmental consulting experience in Texas
  • Must have advance production systems emissions estimation and engineering knowledge, advance air permitting for refineries and petroleum and natural gas production, State of Texas air permitting, PBR, and emissions inventory systems.
  • The ability to evaluate state and federal air quality regulatory compliance.
  • Must be able to satisfy all Drug & Alcohol, Health & Safety, and Security requirements to access clients’ facilities.

  • The ability to communicate facts both verbally and in written form to staff and clients with various backgrounds.
  • Read, analyze, and interpret periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations.
  • Effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public.
  • Ability to write technical reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals.
  • Work with mathematical concepts.
  • Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions.
  • Ability to meet deadlines.
  • Apply concepts to practical situations.
