The Research Specialist will work in the Research and Development group and will conduct laboratory work using multiple technologies to support process and product development efforts.
Responsibilities as follows, but not necessarily limited to:
• Independently plan, design and conduct experiments using gene amplification, next generation sequencing (NGS), and other relevant molecular biology technologies.
• Support lab efforts to develop technologies, reagents, and controls necessary for the next generation of CareDx products
• Isolate nucleic acids from human samples
• Generate sequencing libraries and perform next generation sequencing with and without automated liquid handling platforms
• Receive and process laboratory specimens following the standard methods and procedures with superb attention to detail
• Maintain sample inventory for clinical studies
• Interface with staff in multiple departments
Qualifications
• BS in molecular biology or a related discipline
• Minimum of 5 years laboratory experience with significant Molecular Biology experience
• Experience purifying nucleic acids on manual and/or automated platforms
• Excellent record keeping and the ability to work with, and control large data sets
• Experience with library preparation for next generation sequencing
• Experience with LIMS, electronic document control and databases is a plus
• Skilled in Microsoft Office applications

Work Environment:
Travel is not a primary aspect of this position although travel may be requested from time to time.
