Job Description

GENERAL PURPOSE
Work as a valued member of the shipping and receiving operations. This job will primarily consist of local vehicle operations involving loading, unloading positioning and moving trucks on and between job work sites and warehouse facilities.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:

1.     Operate company owned and leased trucks over 4 tons to facilitate shipping and receiving operations.

2.     Operate trucks for the delivery, pickup and relocation of HVAC products and materials

3.     Obtain materials from warehouse via picking ticket.

4.     Assist in the loading and unloading of truck. 
5.     Provide outstanding customer service during delivery and pickup operations

6.     Perform routine inspection and preventive maintenance on assigned equipment and refer defects or repairs to supervisor; clean equipment.

7.     Perform all duties in conformance to appropriate safety and security standards.

8.     Maintain and protect all property entrusted to you in excellent condition.

9.     Maintain all required certifications required by DOT and OSHA and company safety programs.

10.  Performan general labor duties between delivery loads.
11.  Perform any other tasks assigned to support and improve the overall team operations

SUPERVISION RECEIVED
Works under the general supervision of the Production Manager. 

RESPONSIBILITY FOR PUBLIC CONTACT
Daily contact requiring courtesy, discretion, and sound judgment.

LICENSING AND CERTIFICATION
Valid Non-CDL License that meet the driver qualification guidelines. Forklift knowledge and certification.

TOOLS AND EQUIPMENT USED
Transportation vehicles, box truck, pickup truck, mobile radio, telephone, hand tools used in the maintenance of vehicles.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to sit, talk and hear. The employee is constantly required to use hands and fingers; and reach with hands and arms. The employee is occasionally required to climb, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, crawl and walk.

The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 75 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, color vision, and the ability to adjust focus.

WORK ENVIRONMENT
While performing the duties of this job, the employee frequently works in outside weather conditions. The employee is occasionally exposed to wet and/or humid conditions, and vibration. The noise level in the work environment is usually quiet while in the office, or moderately loud when in the field.

Qualifications

DESIRED MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Education and Experience:
Graduation from high school or GED equivalent, one (1) year relevant experience, or any equivalent combination of education and experience that demonstrates the ability to do the job.

Necessary Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

o      Safely drive various vehicles.

o      Establish and maintain effective relationships with employees, supervisors and the general public.

o      Communicate effectively.

o      Work independently.

o      Perform heavy manual tasks under varying weather conditions.

o      Ability to make independent judgments which have moderate impacts on the organization.

HVAC Distribution experience a plus!

Successful completion of drug screen, criminal background and motor vehicle report required prior to employment.
