Job Description
The Director of Tax Provision is responsible for leading the global tax provision team in preparing quarterly and annual income tax provisions and related financial statement disclosures. Assist VP Taxation with all tax planning projects, acquisitions, divestitures, etc. Oversee and manage the corporate income tax provision. Implement and maintain a tax provision software solution. Must be able to work independently and be a team player.
RESPONSIBILITIES
• Manage and consolidate the quarterly and year-end tax provision processes including the current and deferred provision calculations and effective tax rate analysis
• Interact with the US accounting department and analyze and prepare supporting documentation with regard to computation of permanent and temporary book/tax differences and prepare quarterly tax provision journal entries for US companies
• Interact with foreign subsidiaries’ accounting departments, assist in preparation of tax provision supporting work papers for worldwide consolidated financial statements
• Lead the implementation of tax provision tools
• Prepare tax footnotes and other income tax financial statement disclosures
• Improve and maintain tax account reconciliation policies and procedures
• Maintain quarterly SOX internal control procedures for tax accounting and ensure all processes are properly documented and tested. Coordinate with internal and external attest auditors for control testing
• Ensure legal entity tax basis balance sheets properly reflect all tax accounts
• Prepare and maintain schedules of federal, state, and foreign net operating loss (NOL) carry forwards
• Prepare memoranda supporting tax positions taken and respond to inquiries from big-4 audit firms
• Manage the senior tax analysts located in the Berwyn office
• Assist Human Resources and Payroll departments in managing corporate employee benefit plans and benefit issues, review tax forms and manage the corporate expatriate program
• All other duties as assigned
Qualifications
- BA/BS degree in Accounting or Finance
- CPA
- MS Tax preferred
- 8-10+ years of tax experience in an international corporate tax department and/or large CPA firm, Big 4 CPA experience preferred
