Job Description

We are seeking a talented person with solid front-end development experience to assist in the conversion of older systems to modern Java & Web standards. This work will include conversion of legacy systems to modern Java (Spring MVC) standards as well as conversion of older web designs to modern best practices (e.g. table-based design to CSS, replacing custom JavaScript with modern libraries). Passion for modern web user interface development and interest in object-oriented analysis, design, and development are required. This person will work closely with the backend developers to ensure that the technical solutions support our internal & external business customers. The successful candidate will be driven by the desire for excellence and an innate sense of curiosity.

Responsibilities:

Play a key role in the design and development of enterprise-class web application software
Conversion of existing legacy Java systems to modern equivalents (Spring/Spring MVC)
Be excited and knowledgeable about Agile (Scrum/XP) best practices
Other related duties as assigned

Qualifications

Qualifications:

5+ years industry experience using JSP, HTML, DHTML/Ajax, CSS

3+ Years of industry experience using an OO language (Java/J2EE)

2+ years of enterprise experience with Java Frameworks (

3+ years experience with relational databases (MySQL, Oracle, SQL Server)

Intermediate to advanced JDBC and SQL skills

2 years of experience or relevant experience developing transactional web applications

Experience with IDEs (Eclipse, IntelliJ, NetBeans)
Experience with build tools (Maven, Ant)

Experience with revision control tools (Subversion, ClearCase)

Experience with testing & analysis tools (JUnit)

Experience with Agile methodologies (eXtreme Programming, Scrum)

Full product development life cycle application experience required

BS in Computer Science or equivalent work experience required.

Additional (Stand Out) Qualifications:

Experience working with medical systems / HIPPA

Experience working with a message queue system (e.g. Tuxedo, MQ Series)
