Department:                         Quality Assurance

 

BASIC FUNCTION  

This position will plan and conduct activities concerned with quality control with focus on ensuring high outgoing quality level, training personnel in quality and reducing scrap.

 

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Product Quality

  • Oversee the quality control function.
  • Ensure inspection testing is being conducted in accordance with set procedures
  • Train Inspectors and manufacturing personnel in quality control methods and procedures.
  • Initiate and develop standards and procedures for inspection, testing, and evaluation
  • Plan and coordinate inspection, testing and analysis to assure quality product
  • Maintain forms and instructions for recording/evaluating/reporting quality data
  • Maintain product specifications and quality records
  • Identify recurring quality problems and their root causes. Initiate corrective action as necessary
  • Perform dock-audits, stock inspection, incoming inspection on product as necessary to main good outgoing quality level
  • Identify and non-conforming product  - Inspect/test and review product on hold and ensure proper disposition of product. Coordinate rework of nonconforming product.

 

Material Quality

  • Review and assist in validation and control of raw materials
  • Ensure incoming material meets quality requirements

 

Food Safety

  • Assist in establishing and maintaining the company’s Food Safety Program
  • Perform food safety audits and report non-conformances
  • Maintain food safety/GMP related records for third party audits

 

Quality Assurance

  • Audit operator inspection and report compliance
  • Coordinate internal auditing and training programs.
  • Maintain calibration of inspection and test equipment.
  • Maintain quality metrics on part weights, scrap, performance, etc.

 

REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES

  • Must have knowledge of ISO 9001. SPC/SQC knowledge preferred.
  • Must be computer literate with proficiency in MS Office.
  • Must be detail oriented with good communication skills.
  • Must have ability to train and influence shop floor personnel.

 

Qualifications

EDUCATION

  • Associate degree.

EXPERIENCE

  • Five years experience in a manufacturing environment, two years in quality.

CERTIFICATION

ASQ Certified Quality Engineer preferred.

 

Direct Hire based

Yearly Salary 65 - 80k DOE
