Job Description

Responsible for providing the daily instruction to infants and toddlers in the Early Childhood Classroom.  Assuring quality instruction in the four developmental areas. Work with the Early Childhood team to assure tracking of the developmental progress of children participating in the schools assessments.  Provide intensive education and assistance to families whose children have been diagnosed with a developmental delay including home visits, interpretation services, counseling on self-advocacy, assistance with the development of the Individual Family Service Plan (IFSP), and education on the importance of parenting and the home environment.

Qualifications

Qualifications: CDA or Bachelors degree in early childhood development, elementary education, special education, or it’s equivalence in experience and training. Excellent communication skills in both English and Spanish. Work experience and knowledge in the fields of early childhood development, developmental disabilities, or special education. Familiarity with early intervention resources available within the DC area. Excellent interpersonal, problem-solving, analytical, and organizational skills
