--FILLED-- QC Technician / Dispatcher - Asphalt, Crushed Stone and Concrete

This is a Full-Time, Direct Hire position. The hours are roughly 7:00AM-3:30PM, however overtime may be required depending on daily business volume. After a probationary period, this employee would be eligible for an exceptional benefit package including medical benefits, PTO, profit sharing, and a pension plan.

• Responsible for handling Quality Control issues regarding our products. This includes overseeing or performing Quality Control testing of the products to be used for individual customer projects.
• Schedule or dispatch workers, work crews, equipment, or service vehicles to appropriate locations, according to customer requests, specifications, or needs, using radios or telephones.
• Confer with customers or supervising personnel to address questions, problems, or requests for service or equipment.
• Monitor personnel or equipment locations and coordinate services and schedules.
• Prepare work orders and handle other administrative tasks as needed.
• Determine types of equipment, vehicles, materials, or personnel required, according to work orders or specifications.
• Advise personnel about traffic problems, such as construction areas, accidents, congestion, weather conditions, or other hazards.
• Arrange for necessary repairs to restore delivery schedules.

Requirements:

• Familiar with the field applications of our products which consist of blacktop, crushed stone and concrete products.
• Able to be a personable liaison between Sales, Customers, Dispatchers, Regulatory Entities, Truck Drivers, etc.
• Analytical and mathematical aptitude.
• Must have administrative experience and excellent organizational skills.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Knowledgeable of NYSDOT and private sector technical requirements of blacktop, crushed stone and concrete products.
• Familiar with a Quality Control Lab environment including mix designs, destructive testing, sieve analysis, etc.
• Q.C., Q.A. Certifications or similar with the willingness to quickly seek out such training and certification.
• Previous testing and/or dispatch experience involving building materials, utilities, or other related services would be a plus.
