PHP Developer

Start up in the Detroit Metro area. Dot Com environment. Looking for people who don't have a box to think outside of.

We’re looking for an experienced PHP Developer to help us expand our development operations to support explosive growth in the business. We want someone with an immense desire to disrupt the status quo. This will be a very hands-on role that involves a heavy usage of PHP development in maintaining and constructing various applications. This position will work directly with operations to ensure a high reliability, stability, and usability solution.

Requirements:

•5+ years professional experience using Drupal and PHP• Experience working at a “dot com”• Background working with linux, MySQL, scripting, etc• Preferred familiarity with JavaScript libraries, CSS, HTML5, Photoshop, etc.• Experience leading an Agile development process, preferably in a web-based development environment

Qualified candidates must possess the following minimum experience levels:

• ·         5+ years PHP web application development
• ·         2+ years of experience developing with PHP based MVC framework such as CakePHP, Zend, Symfony (Symfony is most preferred and currently used)
• ·         5+ years developing on Linux or UNIX
• ·         Deep understanding and solid experience in Web Application development including PHP, HTML, CSS, Javascript, XML, JSON
• ·         Experience with AJAX development
• ·         Skilled in Object Oriented programming with supporting work experience
• ·         Experienced using Design Patterns
• ·         Skilled programmer in at least one of Python, Java, C++, Ruby
• ·         Experienced architecting web applications; including defining requirements, and designing architecture.
• ·         Knowledgeable and experienced developing secure web applications
• ·         Familiar with various rapid development methodologies such as Agile, Scrum, Extreme, Test Drive development

The following skills are considered a plus:

• ·         Experience in configuring/administering HTTPD web servers
• ·         Experience managing Trac, Subversion, CruiseControl, VPNs
• ·         Actionscript 3 programming and Flash or Flex development experience
• ·         Experience building a website using a Content Management system
• ·         Experience managing/tuning large operational authenticated website and databases
•           PostgreSQL relational database design and development
