Job Description
Responsibilities include:
- Review and top edit stories to ensure they are well written, on-brand, and logically structured
- Correct grammar and spelling
- Fact check locations, dates, and look out for potential issues; must be comfortable raising these queries with R29 editors and freelancers
- Ensure that all copy is in line with R29 standards and Style Guide
- Check photo and illustration captions
- Work with editors to re-package headlines and optimize for SEO
Qualifications
- A minimum of 3 years in an editing role within digital media
- Excellent written skills, with strict attention to spelling, punctuation, and grammar
- Ability to meet tight deadlines
- Must be extremely organized and enjoy working within a team environment
- A healthy addiction to the Internet, fashion, and pop culture
- Experience working with social media and SEO strategies
This position is NY-based, however, there is potential to work from home part-time.
