Job Description

DCI Group is seeking an experienced, enterprising and driven individual to join as a senior member of its expanding global team, based in our Brussels location.

 

Working directly with a Partner and head of the DCI International Practice along with the DCI Washington-based team, the Director will play a leading role in the creation and execution of varied Brussels and European campaigns on behalf of DCI clients.

 

As a Director you will be a primary point person interacting with clients; executing large scale programs, and managing client accounts in coordination with other team members.   The position requires that you will offer informed political and cultural analysis and overall strategic direction on a variety of issue sets based on extensive experience of the public policy process at Brussels, Member State and EU level. Being an integral part of the team while driving client strategy, policy analysis and activity, a Director must demonstrate exemplary understanding of client issues and the DCI business model.

 

Responsibilities

  • Oversee client account activity
  • Gather and analyze intelligence pertaining to key client issues and prepare high-level reports for internal and client use
  • Create opportunities to further client positions through intelligent research, analysis and awareness of key developments pertaining to issue sets and wider political and policy developments at the EU and Member State level
  • Design and manage complex campaigns operating in multiple locations
  • Build third party and political networks around key issues
  • Manage day-to-day implementation of projects
  • Lead and create team environment
  • Juggle multiple priorities; projects and deadlines
  • Brainstorm and offer creative solutions to problems
  • Propose and write client-ready proposals
  • Offer pro-active solution and strategies to issue management to position client in front of the curve
  • Maintain culture and teamwork atmosphere of account team work to facilitate and improve working relationships
  • Coach and manage direct reports

Qualifications

  • 5 years experience working in an EU institution. Additional experience working in the non-profit or corporate arena an advantage.
  • A proven track record of being able to consistently manage and grow major client accounts.
  • Demonstrated the ability and capacity to think strategically. (Our clients value our ideas, and you must be able to generate your own creative solutions for clients, not just execute the plans of others.)
  • Politically savvy, entrepreneurial and campaign oriented, able to produce on-going strategic advice.
  • Have established networks in Brussels.
  • Deep understanding of EU legislative process and political scene.
  • Ability to direct complex projects with multiple stakeholders.
  • We are a communications firm. You need to be able to effectively communicate your ideas and values both verbally and in writing.
  • Political campaign experience an advantage.
  • Fluent in English and competency in French and/or German preferred.
