The Seattle Times has an opening for an Associate Producer to help manage the seattletimes.com homepage and other parts of the site.  This is a part-time temporary assignment anticipated to last 5 months.  The Associate Producer is charged with day-to-day production and reports to the editor for digital news.  in addition to homepage production, this position will be responsible for assembling story packages, including photos, graphics, interactives and multimedia in our content management system.

Minimum Requirements: A solid foundation in journalistic principles and ethics, good writing and editing skills, the ability to juggle and adapt to changing news needs, a willingness to keep up with the latest technical skills and techniques and the desire to work collaboratively with journalists across the newsroom.

Preferred Experience: Candidates should have prior experience at a news website.  Knowledge of AP style, understanding of SEO principles, strong writing ability particularly for headlines.  Basic knowledge of HTML, web-based CMS, blogging and other Web tools.  A journalism degree is preferred but equivalent experience will be considered.
