Our client, located in California’s Central Valley, is looking for a Senior Repair Technician. This company offers full scale benefits; medical, dental, vision, 401k, PTO.

Job Description

  • Soldering and de-soldering of surface mount devices (SMD)

 

 

  • Troubleshoot and replace defective components without the use of schematics

 

 

  • Troubleshoot hardware problems to the component level

 

 

  • Troubleshoot and repair PCB and power supply failures

 

 

  • Perform board-level system repair

 

 

  • Perform component-level board repair

 

 

  • Evaluate PCB, power supply, and system performance

 

 

  • Perform QA on repaired PCB’s, power supplies, and systems

 

 

  • Replace defective components including SMD

 

 

  • Specify and source repair parts

 

 

  • Diagnose ultrasound system failures

 

 

  • Test ultrasound parts using diagnostic utilities

 

 

  • Provide technical support

 

 

  • Develop and document tests for new and existing products

 

 

  • Loading firmware onto microcontrollers

 

 

  • Assist with ordering and organizing components

 

 

  • Cross train other employees as needed

 

 

  • Maintain a safe work environment and diligently follow safety and compliance policies

 

 

  • Perform other related tasks as needed

 

 

Physical Requirements

  • Must be able to talk clearly and hear responses.

 

 

  • Must have the ability to receive detailed information through hearing and to make determinations in sound.

 

 

  • Must be able to reach, grasp and finger objects and operate business equipment.

 

 

  • Manual dexterity required for keyboard functions, and repetitive motions.

 

 

  • Minimum visual acuity requirements include reading numbers, printer instructions and video display terminals.

 

 

  • Must be able to exert weights of up to five (5) pounds of force on an occasional basis, and a negligible amount of force frequently or constantly to lift, carry, push, pull, or otherwise move objects.

 

 

  • Employee is not substantially exposed to adverse environmental conditions.

 

 

Qualifications
  • Minimum of two years in a related industry or a thorough knowledge about diagnostic ultrasound technology

 

  • Excellent oral and written communication skills

 

 

  • Must have in-depth understanding of electronic components

 

 

  • Excellent SMD soldering with the aid of a microscope, wire stripping, and terminal crimping skills

 

 

  • Ability to troubleshoot system failures at the component level

 

 

  • Proficient with hand tools, solder rework tools, multi-meter and oscilloscope

 

 

  • Skilled in MS Office including MS Word, Excel, etc

 

 

  • Self-Starter with the ability to prioritize schedules and meet deadlines

 

  • An AS degree in Electronics/Biomedical Engineering is preferred
