Online Editorial Assistant, Part-Time

  • Part-time

Company Description

We launched 2820 Press in 2012 with a mission of eliminating barriers between entrepreneurs and the audiences they wish to serve. We develop responsive, accessible, compelling online publications, distributed across multiple platforms. We’ve overhauled websites for Fortune 500 clients and spruced up social media presence for startups. As a small, nimble team of action-oriented communicators, we earn trust by delivering results.

Job Description

If you’re like us, you believe that growing a business requires honest, open, and thoughtful communication with communities. Join our team, and you’ll be responsible for leading prospective clients through a process that delivers stronger brands and measurable business results.

Our clients speak directly to their ideal customers through a balanced combination of blog posts, press releases, and feature stories.

The selected candidate for this temp-to-perm role will join a team and will complete relevant tasks assigned by the Managing Editor. Working closely with a project’s producers, the selected production assistant will perform various editorial tasks such as:

  • logging video and audio interview footage,
  • tagging footage in multimedia asset management libraries,
  • fact checking submitted copy,
  • preparing copy for online publication, and
  • executing traffic requests for blogs and other social media channels.

Assistants participate in the production of corporate websites and brand journalism projects, focusing on business, media, and technology.

The selected candidate will receive coaching and development directly from our Managing Editor, along with opportunities to participate in client 1:1 sessions and guided panel discussions. We’re a small (and growing) team, meaning our junior team members can dive deep with us as we solve complex problems for our clients.

Core responsibilities require attendance on-site at our client's Center City Philadelphia campus weekdays from 9a-6pm.

2820 Press commits to providing opportunities for hands-on experiences that include: shadowing during client production meetings, developing copywriting and editing skills, and building comfort around senior corporate executives.
