Job Description
Position Overview
We are hiring for the position of Assistant Design Engineer for an elevated metro project in Nagpur. As an Assistant Design Engineer, you will contribute to the design and development of structural components for metro projects, ensuring compliance with engineering standards and project requirements
Key Responsibilities
- Perform structural analysis and design for metro-related structures such as viaducts, elevated stations, piers, and foundations.
- Utilize advanced design software (e.g., STAAD Pro, ETABS, SAP2000) to develop safe and efficient structural solutions.
- Prepare detailed design drawings, calculations, and specifications in accordance with project requirements and applicable codes.
- Collaborate with drafting teams to ensure accuracy and completeness of design documentation.
- Ensure designs adhere to relevant codes and standards such as IS codes, Eurocodes, AASHTO, or metro-specific guidelines.
- Incorporate seismic and wind load considerations into structural designs for metro projects.
- Work closely with project managers, senior design engineers, and multidisciplinary teams to align designs with project objectives.
- Provide technical support during design reviews and address stakeholder queries.
- Conduct design checks and peer reviews to ensure accuracy and compliance with project specifications.
- Identify and resolve design-related issues promptly to avoid project delays.
- Provide technical assistance during construction phases, including resolving design-related challenges on-site.
- Review shop drawings and construction methodologies for alignment with design intent.
- Explore innovative design solutions to optimize material usage, cost, and construction efficiency.
- Stay updated with the latest advancements in structural engineering and metro design practices.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in civil engineering (BE/BTech) or equivalent.
- Minimum 5 years of experience in structural design, with 2-3 years dedicated to metro projects.
- Proven track record of designing elevated metro structures such as viaducts, stations, and foundations.
Additional Information
Preferred Attributes
- Proficiency in structural design software such as STAAD Pro, ETABS, SAP2000, and AutoCAD.
- Strong understanding of structural analysis principles, load calculations, and design optimization.
- Familiarity with metro rail design standards and codes (e.g., IS codes, IRC codes, Eurocodes).
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent communication and teamwork abilities to collaborate with multidisciplinary teams.
- Expertise in designing elevated metro structures, including viaducts, piers, and stations.
- Ability to work under tight deadlines and deliver accurate designs.
