Job Description
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Resident Engineer to join our team in Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates. As a Resident Engineer, you will play a crucial role in overseeing construction projects, ensuring quality assurance, and managing on-site operations.
- Administer construction contracts effectively, collaborating closely with the Construction Manager
- Interact daily with Contractor's Project Manager and Plant Operations to ensure smooth project execution
- Oversee field operations to maintain adherence to schedules and overall construction program
- Implement and monitor Project Quality Plans to ensure compliance with contract requirements
- Review and analyze Contractor's daily and weekly work progress against the project schedule
- Identify potential delays or issues and recommend corrective actions to the Construction Manager
- Coordinate activities with outside agencies and utilities as needed
- Ensure strict adherence to job safety procedures and accepted Health and Safety Plans
- Direct and manage the activities of Assistant Resident Engineers, Chief Inspectors, and Office Engineers
- Prepare and review project-related correspondence, monthly estimates, and final payments
- Conduct job coordination and progress meetings
- Review and certify daily inspection reports for accuracy and completeness
- Analyze and comment on CPM Schedule updates
- Maintain high ethical standards and foster a collaborative work environment
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in mechanical, electrical, or civil/structural engineering
- Minimum of 8 years of related experience in construction management or engineering
- Valid Professional Engineer (P.E.) license or equivalent certification
- OSHA 10-hour Construction Health and Safety Course certification
- Comprehensive knowledge of major construction infrastructure projects and mechanical process equipment installation
- Strong project management skills with the ability to oversee multiple aspects of complex projects
- Proficiency in construction management software and tools
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities
- Outstanding communication and leadership skills
- Detail-oriented approach with a focus on quality assurance and contract compliance
- Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment
- Strong organizational skills and capacity to manage multiple priorities effectively
Preferred Qualifications:
- OSHA 30-hour Construction Health and Safety Course certification
- Experience working on international projects, particularly in the Middle East
- Familiarity with local building codes and regulations in Abu Dhabi
