Job Description
AECOM is looking for exceptional Entry Level Park Planner/Designer to join our busy Parks Planning and Design Studio located in Raleigh, North Carolina.
The Parks Studio is focused on the planning and design of parks, public open space, sustainable and resilient infrastructure, greenways, trails, bicycle and pedestrian facilities. We continually plan, design and deliver some of the premier, award-winning park system planning projects across the country and excellent open space design projects in the Southeast region. We are passionate about what we do in the Parks Studio at AECOM. We bring projects to life in the cities and communities in which we work, and we’re driven by a set of values and a common purpose — to create, enhance and sustain the world’s built, natural and social environments. Our multidisciplinary studio works closely with urban designers, architects, engineers, economists, community outreach and other related professionals to develop award winning integrated projects. As a Park Planner / Designer you will have the opportunity to work on a wide range of project types at all stages of the design and implementation process. The successful candidate work closely with the management team to lead design development and delivery at all stages. We’ll provide you support in an environment that allows you to grow and succeed.
This position is expected to begin as soon as possible.
The responsibilities of this position include, but are not limited to:
- Compiling data and conducting research in support of project delivery.
- Creating graphics to support planning documents.
- Playing a key role in the preparation of plans.
- Writing sections of planning reports and documents.
- Producing material for project meetings and workshops.
- Participating in on-site workshops in a support role.
- Communicating effectively with the project team and manager.
Qualifications
Minimum Requirements
- BA/ BS Degree in Urban or Regional Planning, Landscape Architecture or demonstrated equivalency of education and/or experience
Preferred Qualifications
- Master’s Degree in Urban, Regional, or other related planning field.
- Related professional or internship experience.
- Positive outlook and can-do attitude approach to tasks and teamwork.
- Exceptional writing, research, and communication skills.
- Excellent time management skills and ability to balance priorities.
- Effective problem-solving and analytical skills.
- Efficient and organized worker with a high level of attention to detail.
- Ability to work independently as well as in multi-disciplinary teams.
- Apt at developing creative and innovative graphics and project layouts.
- Follows guidance well with little oversight.
- Proficient with ArcGIS, Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, and PowerPoint), Adobe InDesign, Illustrator, AutoCAD, Sketchup Pro, and Photoshop
