Job Description
AECOM is seeking a Civil Technologist to join our Regina, SK office.
In this entry-level role, you will provide essential support to civil engineering projects, contributing to the planning, design, and construction phases. You will work both independently and as part of a larger project team, gaining hands-on experience in drafting, surveying, construction supervision, and project documentation.
This position offers a unique opportunity to build foundational skills while working on impactful projects that shape communities.
Key Responsibilities
As a Civil Technologist, you will:
- Provide technologist and technician services to projects, either individually or as part of a team.
- Support drafting and design activities for various civil and water resources projects using tools like AutoCAD and Civil 3D.
- Assist with preliminary and construction surveying, including data collection using GPS, Total Station Technology, and conventional survey equipment.
- Perform construction layout surveys and provide construction supervision to ensure project specifications are met.
- Compile detailed reports and maintain accurate project documentation.
- Ensure project needs are met in a timely and effective manner, adhering to deadlines and quality standards.
- Foster positive relationships with clients and contractors, ensuring clear communication and collaboration.
- Work in both office and field settings, adapting to project requirements and environments.
Qualifications
Minimum Requirements
- Completion of a diploma in an Engineering Technology program.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience collecting preliminary survey data using GPS, Total Station Technology, and conventional survey equipment.
- Experience performing construction layout surveys is an asset.
- Working knowledge of AutoCAD and design software such as Civil 3D.
- Sound understanding of drawing layouts using pre-established standards (e.g., text styles, blocks).
- Familiarity with materials testing procedures and construction coordination services.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
