Job Description

• Supervise and inspect all electromechanical works including electrical, HVAC, firefighting, plumbing, drainage, ELV, and associated MEP infrastructure in accordance with approved IFC drawings, specifications, and contract requirements.
• Ensure full compliance of MEP works with relevant authority standards including RTA, DEWA, Dubai Civil Defense, Dubai Municipality, Etisalat, and Du.
• Review and verify installation of power distribution systems including HV/LV cables, substations, MDBs, SMDBs, earthing, bonding, street lighting, and ITS interfaces.
• Inspect mechanical systems including HVAC equipment, ducting, piping, insulation, controls, and testing of chilled water and ventilation systems.
• Supervise installation and testing of firefighting systems including sprinklers, hose reels, fire pumps, and related works in coordination with Civil Defense approvals.
• Monitor plumbing, drainage, water supply, sewer, stormwater, and pump room installations to ensure compliance with approved designs.
• Review and comment on MEP shop drawings, material submittals, method statements, calculations, and as-built drawings.
• Ensure inspections are conducted in accordance with approved Inspection and Test Plans (ITPs) and project quality requirements.
• Witness and verify testing and commissioning activities including continuity, insulation resistance, earth resistance, pressure testing, functional testing, and system energization.
• Coordinate MEP works with civil, architectural, and utility disciplines to prevent clashes and ensure proper sequencing of activities.
• Monitor contractor compliance with approved HSE plans, risk assessments, and safe work procedures for MEP activities.
• Identify, report, and follow up on Non-Conformance Reports (NCRs), site observations, and corrective actions until closure.
• Coordinate with local authorities and utility providers for inspections, testing, NOCs, and final approvals.
• Review daily progress reports, maintain inspection and test records, and ensure timely submission of site documentation.
• Participate in progress and coordination meetings to resolve technical issues and interface constraints.
• Support the Resident Engineer and Project Manager in resolving site issues and ensuring accurate as-built documentation prior to handover.
• Verify completion of snagging, de-snagging, and ensure all testing, commissioning, and handover documentation is completed in line with project closeout requirements.

Qualifications

  • Minimum of 8 years of experience in the UAE
  • Knowledge with the local authority procedure, standards and regulations in UAE is essential.
  • Excellent interpersonal, communication and presentation skills.
  • BEng or MEng in Electrical or Mechanical engineering
