Job Description
Position Overview
We are seeking a highly skilled GIS Expert to support the development and analysis of geospatial data for airport infrastructure projects. The ideal candidate will be responsible for creating detailed maps within airport boundaries, delineating various zones and activities, and analyzing GIS data to assess the impact on expansion proposals. This position requires a Master’s degree in GIS/Geoinformatics, aviation sector experience, and 8 to 10 years of professional expertise in GIS applications.
Role and Responsibilities
- Develop and produce detailed maps within the airport boundary to delineate various zones and activities.
- Ensure that maps are accurate, comprehensive, and aligned with project requirements and regulatory standards.
- Utilize advanced GIS tools and techniques to create geospatial representations of airport infrastructure and operations.
- Study and analyze GIS data to understand its implications on airport infrastructure expansion proposals.
- Present findings and insights on how GIS data impacts the feasibility, design, and implementation of expansion projects.
- Provide recommendations to optimize land use and infrastructure planning based on geospatial analysis.
- Manage and maintain GIS databases, ensuring data accuracy, consistency, and accessibility.
- Integrate GIS data with other project datasets to support comprehensive planning and decision-making.
- Ensure compliance with aviation sector standards and best practices for geospatial data management.
- Collaborate with planners, engineers, and other stakeholders to align GIS outputs with project objectives.
- Act as a liaison between the Employer and external consultants to ensure the effective use of GIS in project planning.
- Prepare and deliver presentations, reports, and visualizations to communicate GIS findings to stakeholders.
- Stay updated on the latest GIS technologies, tools, and methodologies.
- Identify opportunities to enhance GIS applications and workflows to improve project outcomes.
- Contribute to the development of innovative solutions for airport infrastructure planning and management.
Qualifications
Qualifications
- Master’s Degree in GIS, Geoinformatics, or a related field is mandatory.
- 8 to 10 years of professional experience in GIS applications, with a focus on the aviation sector.
- Proven expertise in developing maps, managing GIS data, and conducting geospatial analyses for large-scale projects.
- Proficiency in GIS software and tools (e.g., ArcGIS, QGIS, AutoCAD Map 3D, etc.).
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills to interpret and present GIS data effectively.
