Job Description
AECOM is currently seeking Construction Office Engineer to work on Perris South Metrolink Project. This role is not remote and requires on site presence. Within this role, the individual, as part of a team, will be responsible for overseeing the delivery of various scope projects for Perris South Metrolink station, Layover facility, and platform work as well as various utilities and sitework on the project. The Office Engineer will work alone or as part of a team on various tasks and deliverables and interact with clients, design consultants, contractors and various project stakeholders, through project lifecycles including pre-construction, procurement, construction and closeout of contracts to ensure that projects are of high quality and delivered in the most expeditious, efficient manner possible. We are looking for Construction Office Engineer in Perris, CA.
The responsibilities of this position include, but are not limited to:
Prepare, organize, maintain, and distribute project plans, specifications, drawings, engineering submittals, and correspondence.
Assist in preparation of payment applications, verifying that documented progress supports contractor billing.
Preparation of various logs for tracking and regular follow ups with parties responsible.
Coordinate with project managers, resident engineers, design engineers, inspectors, contractors, and inspectors to reconcile field conditions with contract documents.
Prepare and disseminate meeting minutes, action lists, and follow-up items from technical and coordination meetings.
Ensure office records reflect field progress and changes and assist in clarifying design intent and contract requirements.
Review design drawings and specifications to identify inconsistencies, deliverables due, or coordination issues and flag these with project engineers/managers.
Prepare weekly/monthly progress reports synthesizing design status, construction progress, submittals, cost issues, and schedule risks.
Assist in quality assurance/quality control documentation and flag non-conformance reports
Provide support for compliance with agency standards (e.g., Caltrans, SCRRA/Metrolink engineering standards) as they relate to documentation and record keeping.
Maintain project documentation current and to date.
Support with project close-out efforts.
Support preparation of as-built documentation, record changes, and prepare final contract close-out documentation.
Review submissions for completeness and compliance with project documents and requirements.
Utilizing various platforms and software to ensure efficient client review and approval pathways; reviewing plans and documents and providing feedback to various entities and researching best practices to progress deliverables.
Qualifications
Minimum Requirements:
- BA/BS + 4 years of relevant experience or demonstrated equivalency of experience and/or education.
Preferred Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in civil engineering, Construction Management, or closely related field.
Proficiency with project management software, document control systems, and common engineering packages.
Strong organizational skills, written/verbal communication, and understanding of heavy civil/rail construction contracts.
