Start here. Grow here.

We are currently looking to hire a Junior Engineer with some experience in Hydraulics and Drainage design, to join our supportive and highly skilled team. The team provides assessment, concept, feasibility, preliminary and detailed designs on a wide range of projects. Our clients work for private and public sector and include long term Framework Agreements with numerous Local Authorities together with Design and Build commissions for many major Contractors. Our group has an established track record of successfully delivering water designs for many years, throughout the US, Canada, Australia and New Zealand among others. You may have the opportunity to work on some of the most iconic Transportation and Water projects, being part of a diverse and multicultural team for Enterprise Capabilities.

In this role, you’ll support the design and development of Sustainable Urban Drainage Systems (SuDS) and hydraulic projects, working closely with senior team members and contributing to high‑quality engineering deliverables. Your main responsibilities will include:

  • Apply and follow established CAD standards and procedures for SuDS projects, ensuring accuracy and consistency.
  • Perform self-checks of your own deliverables and participate in quality reviews of documents prepared by peers.
  • Assist in CAD drafting and design for SuDS elements across a variety of urban water projects.
  • Conduct basic Hydraulics & Hydrology (H&H) calculations, including runoff estimations, flow routing, and detention basin sizing.
  • Support the preparation of technical documentation, design reports, and presentations for project teams.

This role gives you hands-on exposure to real engineering work while being supported by an experienced team that values learning, quality, and innovation.

Why is this role great for early‑career engineers

  • You’ll work closely with senior engineers who mentor, guide, and share knowledge.
  • You’ll gain exposure to real projects with tangible environmental impact.
  • You’ll develop your technical expertise in SuDS, CAD, and H&H tools—skills in high demand.
  • You’ll be part of a supportive, quality‑driven team where your ideas are valued.

    Qualifications

You’re a junior professional passionate about water engineering, sustainability, and technical growth. We’d love to hear from you if you bring:

    • 1–2 years of experience in hydraulics, hydrology, or drainage design, with a strong interest in SuDS and a desire to build a technical career in this field.
    • Proficiency in AutoCAD or Civil3D, including setup of standards, pipeline alignments, profiles, cross sections, grading, and surface operations.
    • Experience with H&H software (e.g., HEC-RAS/HMS, StormCAD, Infoworks ICM) is highly valued.
    • Familiarity with SuDS design elements, such as permeable pavements, swales, detention basins, or green roofs (a plus, not mandatory).
    • Fluency in English, both written and spoken.

    Preferred Qualifications

    • A Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Civil, Environmental, Water Engineering, or a related discipline.
