Job Description
We are seeking an experienced Engineer - Architecture LEED to join our dynamic team in Makkah, Saudi Arabia. In this role, you will be responsible for designing and implementing sustainable building solutions that meet LEED certification standards while adhering to local Saudi building codes and regulations. You will work collaboratively with architects, engineers, and project stakeholders to deliver high-quality, environmentally responsible projects that align with modern sustainability practices and regional climate considerations.
- Develop and integrate LEED-compliant architectural designs and specifications for commercial, residential, and mixed-use projects
- Conduct comprehensive sustainability analyses and energy modeling to optimize building performance and resource efficiency
- Prepare detailed architectural documentation, drawings, and technical specifications using BIM and CAD software
- Evaluate and recommend sustainable materials, systems, and construction methods that meet LEED criteria and project requirements
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to ensure seamless integration of sustainable design principles throughout all project phases
- Manage LEED certification processes, including documentation preparation, credit tracking, and compliance verification
- Analyze building systems and performance metrics to identify opportunities for energy conservation and environmental impact reduction
- Conduct site assessments and feasibility studies for sustainable design implementation
- Maintain current knowledge of LEED rating systems, local building codes, and evolving sustainability standards
- Communicate design concepts and sustainability benefits to clients, stakeholders, and project teams
- Support project managers in scheduling, budgeting, and resource allocation for sustainable design initiatives
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Architecture, or related discipline
- Active LEED Accreditation (AP or higher level certification)
- Minimum 7 years of professional experience in architectural design and sustainable building practices
- Proven track record of working on large-scale urban master plan projects with high-rise developments and complex mixed-use schemes
- Advanced proficiency in Building Information Modeling (BIM) software and CAD applications with demonstrated expertise in complex project delivery
- Comprehensive knowledge of LEED rating systems (v4 or current version) and green building standards with proven track record of successful certifications
- Demonstrated expertise in energy modeling, analysis, and building performance simulation with ability to optimise building systems
- Extensive understanding of sustainable materials, systems, and construction methodologies with practical application experience on large-scale developments
- Thorough familiarity with Saudi Arabia building codes, regulations, and local construction standards
- Proven experience with project management and coordination across multiple disciplines, including team leadership capabilities on major urban projects
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with meticulous attention to detail and ability to mentor junior team members
- Excellent written and verbal communication abilities in English with demonstrated stakeholder engagement experience
- Preferred: Multiple LEED certifications or additional green building credentials (WELL, Estidama, or equivalent)
- Preferred: Extensive experience with sustainable design projects in Middle Eastern climates and arid environments
- Preferred: In-depth knowledge of Saudi Vision 2030 sustainability initiatives and requirements
- Preferred: Advanced commissioning and building performance verification experience with post-occupancy evaluation expertise
