Agiloft is looking for a Linux Administrator 1 that thrives working with large enterprises in multiple industries, with unique business challenges requiring sophisticated solution design.

Position Overview 

** This position is remote but must be local to our Santa Clara data center.

This is a great opportunity for someone who enjoys installing and maintaining systems in a data center and would also like to learn Linux Administration skills.

You will be part of a team that is responsible for our cloud infrastructure design and our virtualized stack at Cologix in Santa Clara, designing process improvements, network management, and administering the RedHat Linux servers used by our SaaS service.  Help our business grow by installing and configuring its Linux servers and equipment. 

Job Description

  • Install and maintain all equipment in our Cologix Datacenter
  • Provide occasional off-hours ad-hoc support to repair/replace hardware at Datacenter
  • Neat network and power cabling
  • Labeling of all cables and equipment
  • Ordering and installation of Racks, PDUs, Cables, Cable Management, network adapters, etc.
  • Care when performing duties to not cause outages from bumped cables, working on the wrong system, etc.
  • Basic hardware and network troubleshooting skills with Linux as the primary OS.
  • Other Datacenter duties as assigned.  E.g. Purchasing, receiving, inventories.
  • Linux Systems Administration tasks that you will be trained to do.  E.g. Complete basic trouble tickets.
  • Documentation / Diagrams.
  • Additional Duties as Assigned.

Qualifications

Required Qualifications

  • Basic understanding of Server Hardware, Network Connectivity.
  • Able to commute to Cologix in Santa Clara on a regular basis and work remotely from home the rest of the time.
  • Datacenter familiarity and ability to independently rack mount smaller servers, run cables, etc.
  • Good judgment, capacity to independently evaluate situations and identify the optimum course of action
  • A handful of Linux Skills.  e.g. login, ping, traceroute, poweroff, etc.
  • Excellent communication and documentation skills.

  • Previous Datacenter work
  • Linux Administration
