Job Description

Join A New Leaf’s dedicated Development Team in offering the community opportunities to support families and clients served by our shelters and programs. This permanent, part-time position plays an integral role in development and stewardship through a multitude of communication vehicles.

Major areas of responsibility include (but not limited to:)

Responsible for public relations, internal & external corporate branding and policy-driven communications. Assigned projects may include: annual reports, print and electronic newsletters, all aspects of development fundraising projects and program-specific collateral. Some data entry, management and reports. Provide back up for answering phones with the ability to acknowledge general agency, program, donor and volunteer information, screen, prioritize and direct caller to the appropriate individual. Assist in receiving donors and visitors. Assistance with other projects and events as necessary.

Shift/Pay Rate: Full-Time, 40 hrs per week. $11-13/hr

Schedule: Mon—Fri 8am to 5pm

Qualifications

With a goal of increasing awareness and support of A New Leaf’s 20+ human services, minimum qualifications for the Communications Associate include a Bachelors degree and previous Development, Marketing, Communications and database experience. Excellent written and oral communication skills with the ability to multi-task, prioritize and meet deadlines a must. Database and Microsoft Office experience required, in-house design preferred. Must work well in a team environment with the ability to take ownership of projects. Positive attitude with excellent customer service skills. Additional Information: One to three years of communications experience. Previous experience working with the media, strong writing and computer skills may also be preferred as well as social media experience.skills
