JAG (Juvenile Alternatives in Glendale) is a community-based alternative for status offenders, pre-delinquent youth and their families. The center provides immediate crisis stabilization services to youth arrested for status offenses (i.e. runaway, curfew violation, truancy, or incorrigibility.) Youth and Families in crisis may also receive free services voluntarily by calling and setting appointments.
Our program provides an immediate intervention and resource to youth and their parents for easy access to culturally sensitive services. The JAG Youth Center serves to connect the community with law enforcement, juvenile court, provider organizations and school districts as well as provide services and support to families.
Our program is currently seeking to fill a part-time Behavior Science Educator position.
Sunday & Monday 10am to 8pm and 5 flexible hours.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Responsible for providing parenting classes using approved curriculum to parents of children and youth receiving services. Provide informational groups regarding Anger Management, Substance Abuse, Positive Choices, and Life Skills for clients only. Conduct a Parent -Teen Communications group for parent involvement. Responsible for group planning and implementation, outreach, and data management. This position might have other requirements.
Bachelor’s Degree and 2 years experience working with juvenile justice populations. Or a Master Degree with no experience. Valid AZ Drivers License. Class One Fingerprint Clearance Card. Clean 39 Month Motor Vehicle Record.
