Controller

Our client is the multi-family office division of one of the most prominent investment firms in the world. They provide comprehensive wealth management services to their clients including investment services, income tax planning and compliance, trust and estate planning, financial reporting and business transaction oversight and execution. In serving its core clients they have developed expertise in various areas of financial reporting, treasury services, income tax compliance and banking and credit. 

They are seeking a Controller who is a strong leader has an executive presence and strong communication and interpersonal skills for their multi-family office. The candidate must be highly organized and discrete- committed to preserving the families’ privacy. The candidate must have family office or high net worth experience and must have extensive experience accounting for liquid and illiquid assets, operating entities, and real estate. The candidate must be a CPA. The Controller will be responsible for monitoring financial policies and procedures and will report to the CFO. 


Job Description

Responsibilities: 

• Right hand to the CFO overseeing all operations, tax, reporting and operations for the HNW Family Office

• Responsible for the accuracy and completeness of tax basis accounting financial statements for:

• Individuals, Trusts, Partnerships, Corporations, Private Foundations

• Monitor all inflows, outflows, budgets and investments on a recurring basis.

• Oversee treasury functions and moving money of over 150 entities, 8 high net worth families

• Review reconciliations of tax reporting documentation, tax workpapers.

• Review personal financial reporting packages on quarterly basis.

• Create and maintain accounting policies and procedures as appropriate.

• Manage the documentation review, funding and approval process for internal and external investments

• Review investment proposals from external investment advisors.

• Review and assess cash needs for individuals, trusts, partnerships and private foundations

• Analyze budgets for individuals, trusts and various entities (including privately owned aircraft entities)

• Oversee trust agreements.


Qualifications

Requirements: 

• Must be a CPA and have Public accounting experience

• Ideal candidate will have 8-15 years of experience

• Must have experience either within a Family Office or have High Net Worth Experience

• Must have extensive experience accounting for liquid and illiquid assets, operating entities, and real estate.

• Prior experience in financial management, including accounting/internal controls, tax and financial planning and modeling, forecasting and analysis, and banking.

• Experience with treasury functions, group investments, and co-investment loans

• Understanding trusts is a strong plus


Additional Information

Salary and Benefits: Generous compensation with excellent benefits.

Compensation can range from $250K-$450K w/ some flexibility- commensurate with experience
