A3T has an exciting career opportunity for a cleared Army Golden Master (AGM) IV&V Systems Engineer - Senior in support of our client at Fort Huachuca supporting NETCOM.

Job Description

As an Army Golden Master (AGM) Independent Verification and Validation (IV&V) Systems Engineer - Senior, you will provide engineering support to the development, release and support of security hardened configuration baselines for commonly used operating systems that adhere to National Institute for Standards and Technology (NIST), National Security Agency (NSA), Defense Information Security Agency (DISA), and Army policy and secure computing requirements. Provide expert advice in the planning, engineering, testing, integration and support to enterprise initiatives such as Active Directory Migration, Email Exchange, Enterprise Directory Services (EDS), as well as the development and management of the AGM images, and integration into the enterprise and LWN IT Consolidated Services. You will provide IV&V of posted AGM media prior to full release and replicate physical and electronic disk images and distribute to CHESS Consolidated Buy OEM vendors and InSight®, the Army’s Electronic Download Site (EDS), and support the release of the AGM SIPR Token-based activation solution. You will manage and track the latest changes to IT security best practices, including guidelines issued by National Institute of Standard Technology (NIST), Defense Information Systems Agency (DISA), and National Security Agency (NSA).

Qualifications

Highlights of Responsibilities:

• Support the integration and implementation activities of Army initiatives such as Internet Protocol version 6 (IPv6), and Common Access Card/Single Sign-On (CAC/SSO), Everything Over IP (EoIP), Trusted Platform Module (TPM) Enterprise Management, Trusted Computing, Cloud Computing, Thin-Client computing and Universal Communications as related to mission requirements.

• Analyze Windows and Non-Windows products during software development and product lifecycle and document all product configuration specifications.

• Review the processes used to apply the AGM security settings on both workstation and server platforms, and draft a standard process to modify settings in the field to support Army functional requirements.

• Provide recommendations on how to best implement and maintain the security settings without affecting functionality and productivity.

• Design the solution for developing and building platform-specific baseline configurations for Microsoft operating systems to release AGM products.

• Assist the Government in preparing and maintaining lab environments that mirror the Army production environment using the AGM-built OSs.

• Upload any new and updated applications to the AKO portal and complete the following:

• Support additional media replication and distribution, as requested and approved.

• Coordinate AGM CCRM release schedule and requirements for annual builds and monthly updates.

• Update a common architecture as it relates to the components of an AGM release (OS/Configuration, Security Patches, and Applications), how each component is defined and packaged, and how an AGM release is deployed (media) and maintained.

• Support implementation of the current and future LWN architectures, change controls, configuration management, operations procedures, telephonic assistance procedures, and service delivery activities required to maintain mission-ready networks.

• Provide Tier I and Tier II support for engineering and program-level issues submitted to the AGM Program and issues elevated by system administrators. Manage incidents and problems; confirm validity of issues and problems; seek known solutions related to more complex issues.

• Review security settings released in current and future versions of AGM and recommend changes as necessary.

Requirements:

• Current Active Secret Security Clearance and or the ability to obtain one.

• Bachelor’s Degree with more than 4 years practical experience; or more than 12 years of practical experience may be substituted for education.

• IT Level II requiring a NACLC Background Investigation in accordance with AR 25-2.

• IAT III certified as specified in DOD 8570.01-M and BBP 05-PR-M-0002 (CISSP, CASP, CAP, GSLC, or CISM IA Certifications).

• Ability to obtain the Microsoft Certified Solutions Associate (MCSA) or equivalent Computing Environment Certification within 6 months of start date.

Preferred Education and Experience:

• Knowledge and awareness of functionality and integration of Microsoft, non-Microsoft applications, and operating systems used within the Army. Some examples of non-Microsoft applications include Active Client, Tumbleweed, and ApproveIt.

• Experience in drafting Government-approved high-level policy, procedures, executive summaries, technical control documentation, and other documentation.

• Knowledge of design, build, and maintenance of physical and virtual environments.

• Expertise to identify and evaluate new and emerging technologies, feature sets, applications, updates, and capabilities to allow effective integration into the enterprise infrastructure.

• Expertise in documenting designs and code, and in performing configuration management.

• Experience in Web Design, Information Architecture, and Software Development Life Cycles (SDLC).

• Knowledge of commonly used application installation packaging tools and processes such as Microsoft vInstaller (.msi), Wise installer, Install Aware, Active Directory deployments and MS SCCM deployments.

• Expertise to integrate/package/install various application installation (.exe, .bat, .msi) into a standard process.

• Enterprise experience with integration, implementation and deployment of virtualized desktop operating systems and applications.

• Experience in software development and coding (visual base/.NET, C++) and in developing software automation tools, virtualized environments and mobile applications and integration.
