Job Description

The Billing Specialist is responsible for overseeing and performing types of all telecom billing functions and ensuring billing is accurate and goes out each month on time. This position reports to the Sr. Billing Manager and Director of Revenue Assurance. 

You must adhere and add to the operational processes that ensure accurate billing to all customers. You will work with both internal and external customers to resolve billing issues and work with our vendors to deliver accurate and on-time billing to our customers.

Applicants must have experience in Telecom billing. The candidate must also have experience running SQL queries and show demonstrated expertise in the entire telecom billing process.

  • Full understanding of telecom billing is a must 
  • Ensures the department enters rates and commissions accurately 
  • Enters new customers accurately into the billing system 
  • Enters carrier invoices and runs a comparison to ensure carrier is billing what we expect them to bill
  • Enters carrier rates into billing system on a daily basis
  • Prepares and sends out daily reports to executives
  • Works suspense files daily 
  • Works closely with our vendors to resolve trouble tickets 
  • Works closely with our vendors to manage system upgrades and enhancements
  • Responsible for accurate billing of all customers 
  • Responsible for scheduling each billing cycle and ensuring it goes out on time 
  • Ensures proper integration and testing between the billing system and our various online portals.

Qualifications

  • At least 4 years experience running billing systems in the telecommunications industry
  • At least 4 years experience writing and running SQL queries 
  • Demonstrated ability in understanding complex queries required for call detail analyses 
  • Must know how to use Excel. Knowledge of pivot tables, vlookups and complex formulas a plus
  • Some programming experience in C# or others is a plus
