Alberta Oil Tool began as a private company on May 31, 1951. In 1962, the company was purchased by Dover Corporation. Over the years, significant manufacturing capacity has been added. The Edmonton manufacturing facility is now at 80,000 square feet. In 2000, RG Industries, a 39,000 square foot plastics division was acquired. RG Industries specializes in the manufacturing of Sucker Rod Guides. This was followed by the acquisition of C-Tech Energy Services in 2005. C-Tech is an innovative oilfield technology company specializing in Coiled Sucker Rod and the design and manufacturing of upstream oilfield equipment. These strategic acquisitions will allow AOT to further expand its global presence as we export proven Canadian technology to the rest of the world.

Job Description

Reports to: Controller

 

      DUTIES:

  • Invoice sorting
  • Matching invoices and purchase orders
  • Assigning G/L coding to payments
  • Data entry of invoice details into financial system (ORACLE)
  • Preparing and processing credit applications
  • Vendor setup and EFT
  • Generating cheques
  • Gas expense spreadsheet maintenance
  • Payroll backup
  • Export sales tracking and reconciliation
  • Cash receipts
  • Procedure development and documentation
  • Spending Authority maintenance backup
  • Accounts Receivable backup

Qualifications

      KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES:

  • Education in an Accounting related field
  • Ability to manage workload in a timely and efficient manner
  • Ability to take initiative, exercise sound judgment and resolve technical accounting, payroll, billing and invoicing issues
  • Establish and maintain effective working relationships with all staff and vendors
  • Ability to participate in the formulation of strategic and operational plans, the development of new initiatives and program delivery strategies, and the resolution of operational issues
  • Plan, initiate and implement change
  • Ability to set priorities, and make appropriate adjustments as required
  • Recognize and analyze problems and develop an appropriate solution for resolving the issues
  • Sound computer skills in Word processing, spreadsheets, and financial software (Oracle)
  • Ability to meet deadlines.
