Job Description

The Willowdale Bauxite Mine currently has an opportunity for an experienced Geologist or Mining Engineer for the role of Grade Controller / Mine Scheduler. The role will join our Technical Services department, working 10.3h shift on an even time roster.

To be successful in this role, you will have strong communication and organisational skills, and be familiar with the requirements of short-term production planning. The ability to manage challenges presented by a dynamic mining environment, grade variance and the need to provide contingency planning is an important requirement of the role. You will also have an underlying commitment to Health and Safety, and assist to ensure the Operation retains its position as an environmental leader.

As a Grade Controller / Mine Scheduler you will be pivotal in providing support to the Willowdale Mining Operation by assisting in the planning of short-term production and development activities that aim to deliver a blended stockpile from multiple production sources. This will include collaborate discussions to recommend improvements to mining schedules and innovative thinking to improve extraction techniques to ensure the Willowdale Mine maintains its cost advantage.

Qualifications

Applicants must have relevant and recent Production Geology or Short-term Mining Planning experience and be capable in the use of mining software packages, such as Minesight, Surpac and ArcGIS. It is expected that applicants will hold a tertiary qualification in Geology, Mining Engineering or related discipline.
