Job Description

We are seeking a Travel and Expense (T&E) Global Process Owner (GPO) who will lead the global T&E team to handle the core responsibilities for Alcoa Corp. Leading a team, the leader should know T&E and finance principles and the full process end-to-end, including the definition, governance, and on-going improvements to the global T&E processes. Every day is a new challenge, and the GPO will continually be looking for ways for the team to improve at what Alcoa do, in the most efficient way possible. A team player at heart, the GPO collaborate with our Global Shared Service Finance team and other stakeholders, advocate best practices and are ready to assist other team members when necessary. This role moves fast while working with the global T&E team, keeping attention to details, standardize processes and procedures, achieve operating efficiencies, reduce costs to location customers, and you use your problem-solving skills to support Alcoa’s business objectives.

Main Activities

  • Provide strategic and operational direction while communicating a clear vision for the global T&E organization. Develop and translate strategy into objectives, operational goals, and process framework;
  • Work across Alcoa’s five regional centers to develop common standard procedures following best practices where this makes sense. Drive global deployment with regional and local requirements as required;
  • Drive process transformation and make key decisions related to the T&E while reducing process costs and maximizing investment returns;
  • Maintain close connection and collaborate with global shared service financial accounting managers, business units, executive administration, divisional buyers, finance, T&E team, and other business functions and leverage cross process synergies;
  • Stay current on process trends and benchmark various companies to ensure best practices for Alcoa;
  • The Global Process Owner will ensure continuous improvement of the T&E process including standardizing or automating process steps, harmonizing data for consistent processing and reporting, identify and implementing new tools to improve accuracy and efficiency, etc;
  • Identify transactional tasks appropriate for Robotics Process Automation and work with Systems Solutions team to drive RPA technology, allowing T&E team to focus on value-add tasks for stakeholders;
  • Prepare and review with customers the appropriate Service Level Agreements which define services, accountabilities, costs and performance metrics that measure performance;
  • Lead the Global T&E ASAT and propose changes to promote improved controls and/or testing efficiency in accordance with Sarbanes Oxley (SOX) requirements.

  • Persuade process changes and drive standardization to achieve world class operations;
  • Remain flexible and even tempered when priorities change quickly;
  • Lower the costs charged to location customers year after year, while maintaining, or improving, the level of service and quality.

Qualifications

  • 7 years of related experience;
  • Bachelor’s Degree in: Accounting, Finance or, related discipline;
  • Strong critical thinking and strategic planning skills
  • Microsoft Excel and data management skills to an advanced level, as well as direct experience developing executive level presentations using Microsoft PowerPoint

Additional Information

  • Experience with Oracle ERP and Hyperion systems;
  • CPA, MBA or related certification;
  • Lean or Six Sigma Certification;
  • Experience with Concur and AMEX;
  • Leadership skills, proven ability to work in a cross-functional, fast-paced environment and lead and drive complex initiatives.
