Job Description

Position Summary:

This position has responsibility for all HR activities across the site including recruitment, labor relations, employee experience initiatives and talent management.   Leads, coaches and advises on a cohesive and defined HR strategy for the site through employee feedback, people processes and relationship building.  Leads a team of HR professionals, managing their work and development.

 

Job Responsibilities:

Transactional HR Functions:

·Oversee the annual compensation planning processes for the site, coaching managers and analysis of the plant recommendations.

·Internal Audit (ASAT) and Government compliance to all required employment laws, policies and processes

·Responsibility for site recruiting, partnering with the Talent Acquisition CoE and hiring managers to evaluated roles and find the best qualified candidates

·Drive the industrial relations negotiation process, working with the site, BU, employees, unions, and corporate LR team to understand, recommend and arrive at the best options for all

· Maintaining the site disciplinary and grievance process, assisting in investigations, recommendations and corrective actions

·Developing, interpreting and administrating Alcoa’s policy and procedures in the Human Resource area

·Manage local and corporate reward and recognition programs for the plant

·Support managers and employees with Alcoa’s People Development Process, focusing on employee contribution

·Oversight of location benefits and payroll

Strategic HR Functions:

·Location workforce planning and staffing plans, analysis of turnover and future staffing needs with other managers to ensure the workforce is prepared and ready for the future

·Talent management including succession planning, employee development and ensuring local participation in talent reviews

·Partnering to drive organizational effectiveness and leadership development

·Translating business strategy into HR strategy through change management, influence and partnering with the plant manager and other site leaders.

·Actively participates with the site lead team and advises on team building and development opportunities.

·Development of the site reward and recognition strategy to ensure it supports Alcoa’s everyone culture, makes employees feel valued and recognizes performance and behaviors consistent with our values and culture.

·Annual location training and development plans based on local needs to supplement corporate initiatives.

 

Leadership:

·Creating a diverse workforce and inclusive environment, coach’s other leaders to do the same.

·Partnering with the business, helping organizational structure and design evolve to fit the business strategy, coaching staff on necessary related changes

·Develops plant HR team’s members to allow them to capitalize on their inherent capabilities for personal growth and to better serve the company.

·Advises staff on leading their teams effectively by leveraging Alcoa’s PDP and help to resolve conflicts.

·Active member within the Plant Lead Team and participates as a business partner with the team collectively developing and implement business strategy.

Qualifications

Basic Qualifications:

· BS degree in HR, Business or related field of study.

· 7+ years of progressive people experience in a large manufacturing facility

 

Preferred Qualifications:

· Creating/maintaining positive employee relations environment

· Experience in a non-union/union environment would be an advantage

· Strong planning, organizational, group facilitation, and presentation skills

· Ability to manage both strategically and operationally, with strong communication and interpersonal skills

· Ability to influence and communicate across the spectrum of the workforce (i.e. from management through to operators and maintainers)

· Excellent computer skills, including Workday and MS Office (advanced excel and powerpoint skills),

· Willing to partner with the business to deliver the best outcomes for the sustainable future of the plant.
