Align Technology is a global medical device company that pioneered the invisible orthodontics market with the introduction of the Invisalign system in 1999.  Today, we develop innovative, technology-rich products such as Invisalign aligner treatments, iTero™ intra-oral scanners, and OrthoCAD digital services to help dental professionals achieve the clinical results they expect and deliver effective, cutting-edge dental options to their patients.

You will be responsible for developing 3D software in the Product Innovation group. You will work closely with Sr. Software Developers, as well as mechanical and materials engineers. You contribute to the development of the next generation of Invisalign predictability features, by implementing 3D algorithms to process and measure orthodontic actions on digital dental models, as well as engineering new 3D shapes to improve efficacy of Invisalign. The successful candidate is a creative and innovative thinker, motivated by curiosity.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES 

• Analyze needs and derive precise requirements.
• Propose solutions and review with the team.
• Develop 3D software in C++ under Visual-Studio.
• Work in a fast paced environment and meet critical deadlines.
• Create a final presentation to share with the team, deliver tested finished product.
• Follows all departmental and company procedures as indicated in quality, administrative, or other systems.

• Strong background in mathematics required (solid mechanics a plus)
• Knowledge of computer science fundamentals (data-structures, algorithms)
• Demonstrable knowledge of C++
• Experience with 3D software development
• Good communication skills
• Excellent problem-solving skills, thoroughness, attention to detail  

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science preferred.  Other scientific and engineering disciplines considered.
  • 10-12 week summer internship during regular business hours
