Job Description

SUMMARY

The Manager, Training Events, will lead Align Technology’s (makers of Invisalign) extensive customer training initiative. Customer training consists of over 400 one day educational events for General Dentists, Orthodontists, and their teams, located in event venues throughout the United States and Canada, with heavy emphasis on superior customer experience. The Manager, Training Events, will be responsible for strategic management as well as logistical execution. Key responsibilities will include date/location targeting, recruitment estimates, budget planning, project planning, logistics, and team management. This position is highly cross-functional, and will require strong interpersonal, negotiation, and business skills; reports to Director, Events, and works daily with Align’s Professional Education team. Customer centric, world class events are required as standard operating procedure. Relentless execution and sustained excellence will be key indicators of success in this role.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Live training schedule development and management (US/Canada) for 400+ events annually
    • Locations
    • Venues
    • Frequency
    • Timing
    • Staffing
  • Budget development, management, reconciliation
  • Liaise with content providers, clinical experts
  • Team scheduling and deployment
  • Monthly financial reporting to Finance, Accounting, Sales
  • Manage one FT event manager plus a team of travel directors for roadshow on-site support
  • Contract negotiations with venues and other vendors
  • Oversee all logistics planning, A/V, F&B, production, content, fulfillment, shipping, and other onsite requirements
  • Meet or exceed financial goals
  • Travel Director sourcing and contracting
  • Procurement liaison for Master Service Agreements, RFPs
  • Training vendor management
  • Onsite execution audits/process upgrades

  • Experience leading event planners, onsite teams, and travel directors
  • World class customer service and customer satisfaction skills
  • Superior data management and spreadsheet skills
  • Ability to travel 10- 15% (including some weekends), more during ramp-up
  • Skilled communicator with all levels of management, plus Field Sales
  • Excellent business writing and grammar skills
  • Open and direct, tough but fair, focused, motivated to achieve personal best


EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE

  • A Bachelor's degree or equivalent is required
  • Minimum 3 years of roadshow or trade show event management
  • Previous agency side (client service) experience preferred
  • CMP (Certified Meeting Professional) preferred
  • Knowledge of MS Office Suite
  • Dental or medical industry event experience a plus
