Job Description
This new position has been created to add focus to a critical driver of our global growth: the gathering, refining, and communication of customer insights. Tools will include primary and secondary research, customer segmentation, communication analysis, market intelligence, etc.
Reporting to the Senior Director Global Marketing, this role’s primary responsibility includes:
• Development, with Regional Marketing, of Global Learning Plan
• Partner, with Regional Marketing, on Annual Learning Plan execution
• Creation, with Global Product Development & R&D, custom product research
• Accountable, with Regional Marketing, for worldwide campaign effectiveness
• Owner, with Global Product Development, of in market launch results
• Support Member of the Global Marketing Leadership Council
• Key Metrics: Pipeline NPV and NPD Launch versus business case, Customer Net Promoter Scores, Marketing ROI and Brand Equity
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
· Maintains responsibility for all market research for the company
· Oversees consumer and professional insights, information and understanding
· Tracks consumer and professional insights, brand equity and brand positioning
· Consults on strategic business planning (e.g., product, customer profiling, key consumer trends)
· Provides research support to all parts of the organization
· Conducts primary and secondary customer research on existing and targeted customers
· Evaluates ad copy performance (impact on purchase intent, recall etc.)

While there are currently no direct reports scoped for this position, there are teammates at the Manager level that will help drive execution within the product teams and regions. As the importance and scope of the role expands, it is expected that direct reports will be added.
Given the importance of this role, it is critical that the candidate have the following profile:
· Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience required, MBA preferred
· 10+ years of market research and insight experience in a variety of roles of increasing responsibility.
· Success in gathering insights from both professionals (doctors, dentists, pharmacists, etc.) and consumers.
· Experience with early stage insight work helping to shape pipeline development at the brand and franchise/multi-brand level.
· A global profile with experience both as an expatriate, as well as in global franchise roles is preferred.
· A successful people manager who has managed direct reports.
· Comfort driving change with both formal and informal authority.
· A track record of being both a good team leader, as well as being a good teammate.
· Proficiency with MS Office suite including Word, Excel, Outlook and PowerPoint required
· Experience with medical devices or pharmaceuticals is a plus

Regular business hours
Travel is approximately 25%
