Job Description

This role manages the change management, communication and collaboration activities related to the key initiatives in the organization – currently including the delivery of our company wide transformation and implementation of a new Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) system. This person will be accountable for the local and global communication activities. Maintaining consistency with the Human Resources team and agreed global direction is a key responsibility of this role.

Seeking a dynamic team player with strong change management and communications experience to join the Human Resources.  This is a highly visible role working with the Sr. Director of HR at the leadership level. This position will participate in the ensuring the successful adoption of strategic initiatives designed to successfully transform our growing billion dollar organization.

  • Participate in high impact, cross-functional projects by providing change management and organizational effectiveness strategies and approaches.
  • Facilitate Stakeholder Management by creating positive relationships with stakeholders, setting and meeting (or exceeding) expectations, and addressing concerns.
  • Work directly with key stakeholders to help design specific change adoption plans. Also includes development and utilization of methodologies and tools for driving targeted adoption related to major implementations and key business changes/events.
  • Responsible for managing and executing on key internal communication projects.  Includes defining concept and writing executive communication, designing and producing graphic presentations, potentially participating in creating and producing short internal videos, and directing creative teams.  Also responsible for providing general writing, editing, and communication support to various internal communication projects.
  • Support team performance by leading or participating in development and delivery of learning and development opportunities.
  • Build change management knowledge and capabilities across the company.
  • Consult on the people and organizational impact of business decisions.
  • Lead and drive the continuous improvement initiatives identified.

Requirements

 

Change Management - Integration with the program teams to identify all upcoming project changes and communicate the changes appropriately. This position will also help coordinate training and learning sessions in support of overall change management initiative.
Communications - Management and accountability for the ERP communications programs  lies with the Sr. Director of HR over Change Management. The communication activities are to be tied into the programs and overall change management activities.
Collaboration - Internal collaboration across functions and global processes is a key responsibility of the Sr. Director of HR over Change Management. Maintenance of internal collaboration platforms is a critical area of accountability for this role.

 

  • A minimum of five years of consulting experience is preferred, either from a consulting firm or through a relevant internal role.
  • Strong experience using OE/OD/Change Management tools and methodologies, including business case analysis, communications, training, organizational design, team development, etc. 
  • 10+ yrs experience in Change Management/Project Management as it relates to large system implementations, business process re-engineering projects, corporate downsizing/reorganization efforts or other large-scale change initiatives. 
  • Experienced in development and institutionalization of Change Management programs at an enterprise level.
  • 5-7 years in communication with experience and proven skill in writing, editing, presentation design and executive communication.
  • Ability to produce clear, precise, well-designed communication in a variety of media, including print, electronic and visual formats.
  • Knack for working with complex topics and simplifying them for internal audiences through writing, information design and other creative techniques.
  • Strong strategic thinking skills coupled with hands-on writing, editing and design skills.
  • Hands on experience with implementing change management strategies (including the development of the strategy as well as implementation of the various tactics: readiness assessments, focus groups, targeted communications, end user training).
  • Well versed in one or more Change Management methodologies.
  • Project management skills
  • Strong business acumen and experience managing multiple stakeholders within complex organizations is required.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office productivity tools (e.g., Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Visio, etc.) is required.
  • Experience or exposure to IT systems implementations and the change management, communications, training requirements to drive ROI and adoption is required.
  • Strong verbal and written communications skills.
  • Experience with web-based communications tools is an asset in order to enable the online communications channel.  E.g SharePoint and/or web-design.

 

Education

  • A Bachelor's degree is required; a Masters in Business Administration, Organizational Effectiveness/Development, or Industrial/Organizational Psychology is preferred.
