Alta-Fab Structures Ltd. provides innovative, high-quality modular buildings, designed to meet the industrial space and remote housing needs for any industry. We manufacture and service single-unit structures for wellsites and multi-unit large camps and complexes.

• Study specifications in blueprints, sketches, or shop drawings to prepare project layout and determine dimensions and materials required
• Setup and operate machines including power saws and other woodworking machines to cut, shape and form woodstock or wood substitutes
• Attach parts or subassemblies together to form completed units, using glue, dowels, nails, screws, or clamps
• Bore holes for insertion of screws or dowels, by hand or using boring machines
• Cut timber to the right size and shape and trim, sand or scrape to prepare joints to ensure a snug fit, using hand tools, such as planes, chisels, or wood files
• Reinforce joints with nails or other fasteners to prepare articles for finishing
• Install hardware, such as hinges, handles, catches, or drawer pulls, using hand tools
• Apply inlays, varnish, veneer, stain or polish to finished products
• Perform final touch-ups with sandpaper or steel wool
• Laminate cabinet and furniture components
• Design and make templates, jigs and fixtures for production of furniture and other products
• Repair or alter wooden furniture, cabinetry, fixtures, paneling, or other pieces

• A strong commitment to safety and a safety leader
• Must be able to interpret blue prints, and shop drawings
• Ability to work safely with a wide variety of hand and power tools and materials
• Proficient with a measuring tape
• Must be able to work independently or in a group/team setting
• Ability to work in a fast paced team environment
• Ability to work in an indoor confined work area environment
• Position requires 1 – 2 years experience within the field of cabinetry assembly
• Current Forklift certificate would be considered an asset
• Position requires strong English communication skills, including written, spoken and comprehension
• Must be legally entitled to work in Canada

Year round full time employment. Must have vehicle to commute to Nisku.  Application process required pre-employment drug, alcohol and physical testing.
