Job Description

  • Operate forklift to load and unload materials from truck trailers or shipping containers.
  • Operate forklift to move materials on or off pallets, platforms, racking in the warehouse and outdoor storage yards
  • Receive, inspect, verify and classify materials against invoices and other shipping documents noting any irregularities
  • Prepare invoices and other shipping documents manually or by computer
  • Package materials to be shipped and affix identifying information and shipping instructions for delivery, inner-yard transfer or customer pick-up
  • Stack skids or pallets in designated areas and clean up and dispose of scrap bracing, cardboard and strapping placing in proper containers or designated areas
  • Maintain storage areas, entry and exit points, and all high traffic avenues to ensure all areas are free of trash and debris to allow for unobstructed safe passage
  • Perform routine post and pre-inspection on forklift and equipment
  • Report any damage to forklift, equipment, racks, inventory or safety hazards
  • Assist in the completion of inventory audits
  • Other duties as required

Qualifications

  • A strong commitment to safety and a safety leader
  • Ability to work safely in a high-speed manufacturing environment
  • Position requires 2 years or more experience operating a 5000 – 10,000 lb. sit down forklift
  • Ability to drive a forklift performing basic operations such as driving forwards, driving backwards, lifting and lowering boom, or maneuvering in tight areas without damaging product
  • Ability to work with racking systems pulling and placing pallets on/off vertical product racking systems
  • Ability to loading/unloading pallets from trucks or shipping containers maximizing storage by stacking products vertically
  • Experience with standards of operation on minimum/maximum speeds, signaling, putting product in appropriate area
  • Ability to pass Forklift Driving Skills test or currently possess Forklift Driving Certificate
  • Must be able to work independently or in a group/team setting
  • Ability to work in a physically demanding position
  • Ability to work in an outdoor and indoor environment
  • Experienced working within an inventory control program
  • Position requires strong English communication skills, including written, spoken and comprehension
  • Must be legally entitled to work in Canada

Additional Information

Year round full time employment. Must have vehicle to commute to Nisku.  Application process required pre-employment drug, alcohol and physical testing.
