Job Description

  • Maintain policies and procedures to ensure work processes, products or services satisfy expectations and quality standards
  • Report daily work activities at the job site and ensure that proper safety standards are followed and the work performed complies with the Company/Contractor’s safety policies and procedures and specific job site safety requirements.
  • Interact and coordinate with customer representatives at the contractor site to build good working relationships and maintain the Company’s high standards of customer satisfaction
  • Professionally handle and investigate any customer/contractor complaints and deficiency reports and provide identification of causes in a timely manner
  • Provide Management with feedback information on material and construction related issues to assist with better estimating, planning and design of future camps
  • Study specifications in blueprints, sketches, or shop drawings to prepare project layout and determine dimensions and materials required
  • Prepare layouts and patterns using measuring tools, including selecting materials, planning sequences and methods of work to measure and mark materials on new installs and retrofit work
  • Load and unload construction materials and move to appropriate work stations
  • Set up and operate woodworking equipment
  • Measure, cut, shape, trim, assemble materials and components using hand and power tools
  • Attach previously fabricated walls ceilings and floors together
  • Attach exterior building completions including metal siding and steel fabricated items
  • Fit and install trim items for exterior and interior doors
  • Install cabinetry, millwork and industrial kitchens
  • Install small and large appliances (microwaves, fridges)
  • Install electronics (stereos, speakers, DVD, surround systems)
  • Repair or refinish wooden furniture and fixtures
  • Knowledge with electrical troubleshooting
  • Knowledge with plumbing and gas systems
  • Able to work out in the field on camp setups, tear downs and warranty related issues or re-work for extended duration of time
  • Able to work a 14/7 rotational shift

  • A strong commitment to safety and a safety leader
  • Read and interpret blueprints, drawings and specifications and work from sketches
  • Proficient and able to work safely with a wide variety of hand and power tools and materials required of the trade
  • Must be able to work independently or in a group/team setting as an effective learner / listener
  • Skilled in the residential construction, repair, restoration and installation techniques for assigned work projects
  • Computer literacy required
  • Ability to plan, lay out, and perform install of units on site
  • Ability to estimate time and materials needed for assigned work projects
  • Ability to work in a physical demanding position and a fast paced team environment
  • Ability to work in an outdoor and indoor confined work area environment
  • Available to work on a rotational schedule, in a remote environment
  • Current certificate in Hours of Service, H2S, First Aid CPR, CSTS/PSTS, OSSA, Man Lift, All Terrain Fork Lift, Fall Arrest, Confined Space Entry & Rescue, Confined Space Monitor would be considered an asset
  • Position requires 3 years or more experience within residential construction and renovations
  • Position requires 3 years or more experience operating a service vehicle
  • Valid Class 5 Drivers License
  • Provide current Commercial Drivers Abstract outlining last 5 years driving history
  • Familiar in completing Daily Vehicle Inspections Report
  • Position requires vehicle to commute to Nisku
  • Position requires strong English communication skills, including written, spoken and comprehension
  • Must be legally entitled to work in Canada
