The Logistics Specialist (Commercial) (LS) is responsible for providing the logistical frame work for the assigned areas. This includes investigation of (new) transport opportunities, rate negotiations with vendors, resolving service issues with vendors. The LS is responsible for supporting the booking / logistics team for all matters in his/her area of responsibility. The LS should have solid working knowledge of the responsibilities of all parties in the export transaction including that of the buyer, supplier, inland/ocean carrier, stevedore, customs agent, and governmental agencies such as the customs authorities. Special focus for this position is the relationship with our Chinese /Taiwanese vendors and our office in China, service and communication with ACNH (China) and the Nine Dragons
mills.

What your job actually requires

• Frequently travelling to designated business partners to maintain and develop the relationship
  

• Frequently communicating with existing freight /service providers.
• Negotiating terms and conditions of freight agreements and benchmarking in the market
• Keep control on service level (issues) for consignees in Asia
  

• Instruct and support the Booking colleagues in their choice of inland freight vendors / shipping lines and provide guidance in this logistics area.

• Researching new market opportunities in close cooperation with the marketing team

• Full account manager of designated service providers

• Frequently communicating with the back office and the other operational teams while striving for commercial and operational excellence

• Logistics projects in cooperation with management

A typical day of a Logistics Specialist?
Everyday a new challenge! Resolving challenges and service issues in the supply chain is a key role of the specialist. Providing movement options and negotiate new freight deals. Work with the booking team that our sales contracts are being fulffilled timely. Help develop a logistics strategy for your accounts and markets and be the spider in the web for supporting teams to keep the business and administration moving.

What we ask

• HBO (Higher Vocational Education) in e.g. logistics management / commercial economics,
• 5 years experience in a freight procurement type of role or other commercial role
• (Near) native Chinese, fluent English, Dutch is a plus
• Valid passport/ID and driver’s license with safe driving record
• You are fulltime available
