Job Description

At Anitian, Inc., our Operations (Ops) Engineers perform system and cloud engineering supporting our customer base, both federal and commercial. We are looking for a Staff Ops Engineer to help lead solving complex customer issues and recognize patterns of root causes to drive designing new solutions that improve our service. You will be bringing your experience managing on-prem and cloud systems to a team that is looking to grow themselves around supporting FedRAMP authorized Cloud Service Providers (CSPs). This is a rare opportunity for you to have a large impact through action and influence in a rapidly growing team. Your technical leadership will play a critical role in our Compliance and Security Services Organizations, which is dedicated to supporting our customers.

Successful candidates will manage and design core operational solutions and services, coach team members, and coordinate with other internal engineering and development teams.

Responsibilities

  • Maintenance and management of existing customer cloud systems.
    • Includes Linux and Windows-based systems.
    • Operate within the confines of our customer’s FedRAMP Compliance Standards.
    • Organize and perform customer facing work via ServiceNow ticket queues.
    • Administer cloud services in AWS and/or Azure.
    • Monitor system performance and troubleshoot problems as they arise.
    • Drive planning of complex system upgrades and maintenance.
  • Mentor junior team members.
  • Assist with recruiting and hiring of team members.
  • Manage projects and processes with limited oversight.
  • Responsible for managing complex projects involving delegation of work and review of solutions.
  • Be part of an on-call rotation schedule for after-hours support.

Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, related degree, or equivalent industry experience.
  • At least seven years of IT/engineering experience including cloud and system administration.
  • Experience working on common enterprise security platforms such as SIEM, Vulnerability Management, EDR solutions.
  • At least three years’ experience with public cloud platforms (AWS/Azure), including administration of services and designing cloud architecture.
  • Ability to troubleshoot issues related to TCP/IP networking.
  • Experience administrating both Windows and Linux (RHEL) based systems.
  • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Professionalism interfacing with customers.
  • Flexibility to learn and adapt to new technologies.
  • Effective ability to understand and manage complex systems spanning multiple clients.
  • May require evening and/or weekend work depending on severity of customer tickets.

Preferred Qualifications

  • High level of clarity in technical communication with peers and non-technical leaders or cohorts
  • Demonstrated ability to achieve goals in a fast-paced environment.
  • Relevant certificates evaluated, but not required.
  • Experience participating in Compliance Audits (SOC2, FedRAMP).
  • Elastic or Splunk query languages and syntax.
  • Configuration management such as Ansible and Terraform.
  • Experience with Containerization/Orchestration on common Cloud platforms (AWS, Azure).

Compensation: Staff Operations Engineer ($130,000 to $160,000). Exact compensation may vary based on skills, experience, and location. Our total compensation package includes the base salary, competitive benefits, and stock options.
