Job Description

AppFirst is looking for an experienced, hands-on, energetic Senior Product Manager to join our growing team in the heart of New York City. Founded in 2009, AppFirst’s platform enables Fortune 1,000 organizations to optimize the technology that runs their business and exposes organizations to real time data to cover mission critical performance, security, forensics and compliance. This candidate will work with customers, senior leadership, engineering and marketing to help create applications/features on top of the platform that best serve the enterprise market.

The core responsibilities of this role are to interact with our customers and prospects on a daily and weekly basis, translate needs into clear requirement documents for engineering, perform analysis on competitors and the greater market, and support product marketing activities.

Role Responsibilities:

  • Manage the product roadmap and lifecycle from inception, analysis, and ongoing iteration
  • Own client requirement gathering with the assistance of the Sales and Executive Team
  • Clearly communicate problem statement, business case, and functional requirements to leadership and front-end teams.
  • Perform thorough and objective competitive analysis to ensure unique feature differentiation.
  • Collaborate with design teams to create wireframes that demonstrate workflow & value within 2-3 clicks
  • Collaborate to turn wireframes into a functional prototypes & ultimately production-ready features
  • Create technical content supporting the product suite. This includes blogging, whitepapers, slides, webinars, etc.
  • Own partner and integration opportunities. This includes research, business case, requirements, technical content for co-marketing and selling.


Qualifications

Must-Have Requirements: 

  • 12+ years of a similar customer facing Product Management and/or Field Engineering role within B2B enterprise technology
  • Exceptional communication ability with customers, leadership, engineering and marketing.
  • A demonstrated history of capturing and translating customer workflows, problems and needs into clear and concise requirement documents for leadership and engineering.
  • Ability to understand the business & financial impact of product enhancements for the greater market.
  • A compulsion for clarity and detail. Shortcuts are not in your vocabulary.
  • An understanding of enterprise technology stacks
  • Bachelor's degree required, Master’s a plus


Preferred Experience

  • Building net new enterprise quality products for IT and/or Security
  • Direct experience in working with Fortune 1,000 customers
  • Demonstrated history of product marketing: product → feature → customer benefit → customer value statements (Must have examples of webinars, blogs, documentation etc)
  • Computer Science Degree a plus from an accredited university or college
  • Client references for similar work within past 12 months 
  • Willingness to travel
  • Passion for success
