Data Collector - must be a Swahili speaker from Kenya or Tanzania.

Project:
Collecting audio/video and text news using web-browser and Appen’s tool.

Project Information:
• Location: Chatswood
• Hours: Minimum of 15 hours a week
• Length: One month
• Type of contract: casual part-time
• Start date: Immediate
• Salary: $24.66 per hour incl. superannuation

Tasks:
• Searching online for news sources (videos/audio) in native language
• Using an Appen tool (training will be provided) to listen to and select usable audio/video segments according to provided guidelines
• Using Appen tool to read text In Swahili and select usable section of documents according to provided guidelines
• Select and label appropriate segments of audio/video and text data using provided guidelines

Requirements:
• Must be a fluent/native speaker of Swahili as spoken in Kenya or Tanzania
• Good working knowledge of English
• Excellent attention to detail
• Efficient and accurate data entry and analysis
• Ability to make decisions based on provided guidelines
• Good computer skills and willingness and ability to learn new tool
• Must be able to work in Chatswood office, with minimum availability of 15 hrs/week

Preferred skills but not essential:
• Experience working with audio software
• Background/experience in media or media productions
