You will help a broad set of high profile clients more confidently and effectively measure the impact of marketing efforts, make marketing decisions, meet objectives, and improve marketing ROI through the use of leading-edge market research, consulting services, and decision support tools and systems.

Job Description

Position Overview:


Directors are a critical lynchpin on the team, as they oversee and guide the work efforts they execute with clients.  Directors are responsible for making the day-to-day decisions to ensure the work effort; and the overall client relationship stay in a great place.  They lead the daily communications and relationships with clients, lead a team of Research Analysts and Data Analysts and collaborate with other members of the team to execute project efforts.  Ultimately, Directors are responsible for driving high quality work that produces true insights and recommendations that tie to measurable client value (vs. simply delivering 'data'), and doing this on-time and on-budget. 



The Director's general responsibility is to manage the team of people performing day-to-day execution of multiple research projects of varying size and scope and participating in those activities as well.  Some specific responsibilities include:    

  •  "Own" day to day / mid-level client relationships and deliver value on the project that will build
    repeat business for ongoing client relationships

          Develop personal credibility with key client stakeholders with the goal of becoming a "trusted 


          Keep updated on client's business and industry to ensure you are thinking about how our
          research can address relevant and timely issues

          Keep clients engaged throughout the process to strengthen the relationship as well as the
          impact of our results delivery

          Support senior team members in building relationships with the most senior clients

          Must be able to support a team of direct reports (Research Analysts and Data Analysts) by
          managing multiple small client engagements or a few larger engagements (not a sales

  • Oversee the design, development, fielding and monitoring of survey instruments, the key data source for our marketing ROI insights

          Help design and review surveys written by Research Analysts/Senior Research Analysts to
          most effectively meet project objectives

          Oversee senior relationship with 3rd party partners and provide a final "stamp of approval" in the

          survey QA and sample plan development process

          Ultimately responsible for vendor budget management

  • Interpret survey results and identify client implications:  Drive the results from data into insights and recommended client actions

          Form hypotheses based on key client questions / objectives and summary survey results

          Design and perform / oversee key analyses to support or refute hypotheses

          Develop client-specific insights, implications, and recommended actions based on analysis,
          pattern recognition, and experience

          Anticipate areas where your client will be interested in digging deeper and proactively

          execute/communicate these ideas

          Take the lead in project-related communications with respective clients

          Ultimately responsible for client meeting management, and final presentation development to

          be able to dictate client meetings if necessary

          Actively participate in both client and internal calls and meetings

          Ensure your team is accurately capturing / distributing meeting notes and next steps -
          encourage clarification where action items are not clear

          Collaborate with leaders of others groups where needed to ensure that your client's work is
          getting done on time at the highest level of quality possible

          Foster a positive team culture by encouraging communication as well as handling any
          problems quickly and setting expectations clearly

  • Participate in expanding relationships for current clients and support the sales team during the final stages of selling new business.

          Act as a trusted advisor and day to day project execution expert in key business development
          meeting with new client prospects

          Assist AVP/VPs to price and scope new projects and develop final proposals


 Management Responsibilities

  • Develop team member careers effectively so that junior team members become equipped to move from Research Analysts to Senior Research Analysts, and from Senior Research Analyst to Directors
  • Manage team members so that skill-sets are matched to appropriate tasks and timelines are managed within the team to execute against client expectations
  • Manage "upwards" to involve AVPs, VPs, C-level staff and sales teams at appropriate points throughout a project to troubleshoot, help over service clients, and effectively run the team

  • High levels of experience and comfort with Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint

  • 5-10 years of experience; 6 years market research or media analytics experience ideal
  • Graduate Degree Preferred

While media and / or market research experience is certainly a plus, more than anything we are looking for extremely smart, intellectually curious, highly motivated team members that fit well within the fun team and working environment

Compensation: $110K to $125K base salary (based on experience)  + Bonus Eligible
