Job Description

Assists the Communications Manager in supporting all aspects of the community website, printed publication, including content creation, site monitoring, maintenance, training, and end-user customer support.

Essential Functions / Job Duties

1.    Community Website (

a.    Daily Maintenance

                                 i.    Verify and approve new users

                               ii.    Approve content submissions from users (classifieds,forum, etc.)

                              iii.    Create and publish Association and Lifestyle content

b.    Customer Support/Training

                                 i.    Respond to feedback/issue emails and telephone calls

                               ii.    Create help content

2.    Printed Publication (View Magazine)

a.    Content Creation

                                 i.    Design and create promotional materials for the Association and Lifestyle events

b.    Magazine Organization

                                 i.    Communicate with various content sources(clubs, committees, staff, etc.)

                               ii.    Assist in proofing the magazine proofs for errors

c.    Advertising

                                 i.    Communicate with advertisers to ensure their needs are fulfilled

                               ii.    Send ad proofs and renewal reminders to advertisers


3.    Miscellaneous Tasks and Duties

a.    Technical Support

                                 i.    Assist staff and residents with minor computer  issues

                               ii.    Communicate with off-site IT when issues cannot be resolved onsite

b.    Association and Lifestyle Events

                                 i.    Design and create promotional materials for Lifestyle events

                               ii.    Ensure events are promoted using all communications avenues

                              iii.    Promote events are promoted via local publications and media when needed

                              iv.    Assist with the operation of events when  needed



a.    Excellent written and oral communication skills

b.    Strong creative/writing skills

c.    Ability to simultaneously perform multiple tasks and meet deadlines

d.    Must possess a pleasant and professional demeanor

e.    Must work well in a team environment

2.    Technical

a.    Intermediate knowledge of Microsoft Windows, Microsoft Office, and other desktop applications

b.    Basic knowledge of graphics software such as Adobe Photoshop

c.    General knowledge of WordPress is preferred

d.    Ability to learn new applications and navigate effectively

3.    Work Experience/Education

a.    Customer support experience

b.    Ability to effectively train new users

c.    Technology familiarity (education or work experience equivalent)
