Job Description

Daily administration of some or all parts of a comprehensive corporate benefits portfolio. Specific plan duties include the following:


Pension Plan Administration:

               Handle day to day administration of all plans.  Calculate retirement estimates; process cashouts; process new retirees’ pension applications; process survivor benefits; maintain database of all pension eligible employees; maintain all pension files; handle misc. inquiries from current and former participants; assist with annual audits.


401(k) Administration:                                                                                                                                          

               Process all withdrawals, rollovers, loan payoffs; monthly reporting review


Health Plans:                                                                                                                                                 

               Daily administration of all health & welfare benefit plans including medical, dental, vision, EAP, and health savings accounts.  Provide assistance with claim & eligibility issues; serve as vendor liaison.  Create & update benefit communications, including enrollment forms.  Organize Open Enrollment process & communicate with HR team to execute.   Monitor plan enrollment and ensure all employees are in correct benefit plans/levels.  Audit eligibility of participants and their dependents.  Monitor and reconcile all electronic feeds from HRIS to vendors; Reconcile and process monthly premium payments.



               Administer COBRA process – process payments; monitor & reconcile enrollment


FMLA & Medical Leave:                                                                                                                                  

               Administer the FMLA and Medical Leave process for all salaried employees.  Track all employees on leave (Medical and Worker’s Compensation).  Process Short Term Disability and Long Term Disability paperwork.


Life Insurance:                                                                                                                 

               Process all life insurance claims; maintain life insurance database for salaried employee’s life insurance elections that drive payroll deductions & premium payments.



               Coordinate voluntary benefit deductions; Benefits Intranet page administrator.


Prior experience and/or familiarity with health & welfare and retirement plan concepts, operations

Proven ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment

Excellent communication and interpersonal skills; friendly and professional demeanor

Attention to detail and thorough follow through, ability to meet deadlines

Strong organizational skills

Ability to maintain the confidentiality, sensitivity, and security of information

Demonstrated proficiency with Microsoft Office (i.e. Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook)


Qualifications Desired:

4-year degree (Human Resources, Business)

Prior experience with an HRIS database (i.e. ADP Enterprise)
