Carat HR Solutions, is  in search of a dynamic Hotel Director of Fianance for our Client.  This position is  located in beautiful Grand Cayman, Cayman Islands.    

Reporting to the General Manager,  the Director of Finance will be responsible for overseeing the entire financial process for the hotel and all outlets associated with the hotel.    The DOF will be responsiblie  for the preparation of annual budgets and monthly forecasts; makes recommendations to management on major economic objectives and policies for hotel, will support the General Manager and hotel financial goals by direct preparation of monthly and annual reports, summarizing and forecasting hotel’s revenues, expenses and earning based on past, present and expected operations as well as provide department heads with up to date financials as it affects their respective departments.

This position will ensure compliance with hotel policies and procedures and all applicable laws, may be required to negotiate and monitor contracts with hotel vendors, arrange for audits of the hotel’s accounts, prepare reports required by regulatory agencies, as well as establish, implement and deploy SOP’s for the Finance Department.

They may also be required to participate as a Duty Manager.

The ideal candidate will Bachelor’s degree (B.A/B.S) or equivalent from a four year college, in the area of finance and/or hospitality is highly desired. Work experience and expertise weighs heavy and will be considered in lieu of degree.

Possess 5 or more years of experience in a similar role with strong preference given for experience within a Branded Hotel or Resort. Senior leadership experience in accepted accounting practices and principles within a hotel or resort is mandatory together with advanced QuickBooks and Excel knowledge. The use of biometric and cloud based time as well as Attendance Tracking and HRM software are required.

Strong communication and listening skills, excellent English speaking, reading and writing skills as well as the ability to work well under time pressure and/or demanding travel schedules and have positive attitude with flexibility to respond to a range of different work situations.
