Job Description

Retail Accounting – Inventory Control Supervisor


MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE:


• Prepare, analyze and report weekly, monthly, quarterly gross margin analysis

• Assist in month-end closing, prepare journal entries as necessary, analyze inventory evaluation, inventory roll-forward

• Coordinate with IT department for system issues, maintenance and development

• Maintain internal control documentation and test internal controls

• Prepare detailed account analysis and reconcile sales, cost and inventory

• Work in special projects as required

• Ensure timely submission, accuracy and validity of inventory, shrink and gross margin schedules management

• Trouble shooting store related inventory issues regarding missing documents in the POS system

• Research overdue detailed distribution sheets, transfer receipts and receiving memos

• Track packages from the warehouse to the stores

• Submit claims for loss packages with courier services (UPS, DHL, Fed Ex, Techtrans)

• Verify and process over/short discrepancies

• Approve invoices for all drop shipments to stores

• Prepare outstanding document reports for weekly mail pack

• Create and process memos for documents that are sent out in the weekly mail pack

• Review stock levels for all locations for inconsistencies in quantities

• Process on-hand adjustments for the warehouse

• Meet with inventory services companies to discuss physical inventories



Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting/Finance

• Ability to perform the essential functions of the job typically acquired through 3 or more years of related experience

• Ability to apply knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles

• Must be able to adapt to new and different computer programs and software to enable efficient data gathering and analysis

• Ability to research, compile, analyze and interpret data

• Good written, verbal communication and collaborative skills

• Proficiency in Excel and Microsoft Office products

• Strong organizational and communicational skills

• Detail oriented

• Knowledge of JDE, ACS, and SAP systems preferred

• Retail industry and in-store experience preferred

• Ability to work independently
