Job Description

General Responsibility

The Junior Electrical Project Engineer position is a hands-on job requiring excellent technical, organizational and communication skills.  The Junior Electrical Project Engineer applies professional electrical engineering knowledge and skills to project engineering within the high-speed sorter division relating to the sorter control system.  Additionally, the Engineer will work with the packaging and palletizing division on the palletizer, robots and stretch hood products. This position offers the opportunity for substantial career development and will work closely with mechanical engineering, project management and service.

Responsibilities

  • Assist in the design of electrical control aspects for high-speed sorters.
  • Assist in the design of electrical control aspects for palletizers, robots and stretch hoods.
  • Review electrical design drawings and specifications prepared by customer or consultants.
  • Review electrical design and documentation from suppliers.
  • Assist on-site personnel during installation and commissioning
  • Consult with and assist regarding electrical problems encountered during projects.
  • Prepare electrical project documentation
  • Prepare bid specifications for electrical installations or panel builders
  • Travel to site to assist with electrical installation
  • May be assigned to special projects or required to perform other duties not listed above, which may vary from time to time as determined by management, to meet company needs.

Qualifications

Requirements/Skills and Abilities

Required: 

  • Bachelors or Masters degree in Electrical  Engineering
  • 0-3 years of work experience preferred, but not required

Knowledge of:

  • Advanced electrical engineering concepts.
  • Fundamental mathematical techniques.
  • Electrical codes and related regulations

Ability to:

  • Evaluate electrical engineering problems.
  • Keep abreast of changes in engineering technology.
  • Prepare specifications and documents in accordance with requirements.
  • Investigate technical problems and establish procedures and corrective actions to avoid recurrences.
  •  Use computer-based tools for electrical engineering
  • Travel domestically and internationally
